Unmaking: Art as Respite

How has making changed for you in the last year? What themes have you found yourself exploring? Are they a departure from work you’ve already made, or have they been a return to a space of comfort? Submit up to five pieces on how your personal practice has changed in the past year. These pieces do not necessarily need to be the finished product - they can be journal entries, photos of your process, dream logs, a recipe you returned to, tangential contemplations that arose in your downtime, or anything that contributed to who you are as an artist. The concept of this collection is to reframe artists and their practice as deeply human, flexible, and evolving. Most importantly, this collection is meant to highlight the ways in which art is a source of solace, and seeks to identify artists and their art beyond aesthetic quality, marketability, or the comfort of the percieved audience.
